Christmas Tree Decorations using various crafts Plastic canvas and cross-stitch - designs taken from the Best of GuidingUK website (Christmas tree, angel, stocking, snowman and star) Salt-dough and cold-set clay (Fimo) - stars and snowflakes, sprayed gold when set. (I also got my Guides making snowflakes out of salt dough - these have not been included for this badge, but were put on the tree!) Glass paints on acetate - snowflakes and bells : for speed of mass-production I used stick-on outlines which I then filled in by hand. Painted glass baubles - bought in plain colours for £1 per box of nine from our local pound shop and hand decorated with glass paints and/or glue and glitter. These decorations were all made for the parish church Christmas Tree Festival 2003 and totalled 79 decorations - 48 I made and 31 made by my Guides. I had intended to take a photo of the finished tree when I went to take them down but some kind soul had thought to be helpful and had packed them all away for me when I got there! |
